Hotel & Motel Accommodation in Wisemans Ferry, New South WalesWisemans Ferry is an historic crossing point on the Hawkesbury River. Now a small settlement, Wisemans Ferry has a few shops and, most importantly, a ferry across the Hawkesbury to St Albans, the Hunter Valley and Gosford. Wisemans Ferry Inn was built in 1826 though it is much altered. Also in the area are remnants of the Great North Road (built in 1829 by up to 520 convicts). The unusual Wisemans Ferry cemetery contains the grave of Peter Hibbs who travelled to Australia with Captain Cook in 1770. Exclusive heritage accommodation is available at Wisemans Ferry.
