The brand new property to be known as Select Braemar Lodge and Spa, Hanmer Springs and managed by Select Hotels & Resorts International Management Pty Ltd will open by the beginning of September 2008. It is located on an elevated plateau minutes from Hanmer Springs' thermal spa and 90 minutes north from Christchurch International Airport. The Central Facility of the lodge comprises of the reception, library lounge, bar and the Alpine View restaurant. The Guest Spa will offer unique wine treatments where guests will enjoy the piece de resistance of bathing in wine with a glass of vino in hand, followed by an invigorating massage with grape seed oil and finishing with a champagne facial. Away from the centre of the lodge, Select Braemar continues to indulge guests with the 24 open plan guest suites from 60+sqm featuring floor-to ceiling windows and doors, contemporary natural-toned décor, sumptuous designer furnishings and a super Californian king-size bed. A flaming gas fire will provide winter warmth from the surrounding snow capped mountains: a beautiful backdrop when guests relax at the end of the day in their private terrace's outdoor Jacuzzi.
